Crown Reduction Price
Affordable Crown Reduction In Nottingham
Our price for a crown reduction depends on the following factors:
Tree height: A crown reduction on a tall tree needs a longer climb, more rigging, more rope work and heavier cleanup than the same job on a shorter tree.
Amount of reduction: A 10 percent reduction is a lot less work than a 20 percent reduction. Every branch cut is a decision, a climb to the right spot and a lowered section.
Condition of the tree: A healthy tree with clean bark is easier to work than an old tree with dead pockets or weak unions. Careful trees take longer.
Access and hazards: If the tree is behind a house, over a conservatory or next to a power line, we need more rigging and more time. Trees with a clear drop zone are quicker.
Waste volume: The bigger the reduction, the more brash. Chipping and removal takes time and disposal costs money.
Based on those factors, our prices normally fall in the ranges below.
| Tree Size | Price (£) |
| Up to 5 metres | 75 – 200 |
| 5 – 10 metres | 125 – 275 |
| 10 – 15 metres | 175 – 400 |
| 15 – 20 metres | 250 – 550 |
| 20 – 25 metres | 325 – 700 |
| Over 25 metres | 400 – 900 |

The prices above are guides, not fixed quotes. Every tree and every garden is different, so the final price on your job may sit inside these bands, at the top of them, or occasionally outside them where the work is unusual.
We firm up the price in one of two ways:
Photos or video: Send us a few photos of the tree, or a short video walking around it, along with rough dimensions and a description of what you want done. We can often price a straightforward job from this alone.
Free inspection: We come to you, look at the tree, check for TPO or conservation area status, walk the access route and the drop zone, and give you a written quote afterwards.
Once we know the scope, we send a written quote that lists the price, a description of the work, a start date, and any conditions (for example, waiting on TPO consent from the council). You decide whether to go ahead. If the quote is not right for you, that is fine, we part on good terms and you owe nothing.
If a Tree Preservation Order or a conservation area notice is needed, we handle the paperwork with the local council as part of the job. The statutory notice period is up to eight weeks for TPO consent or six weeks for a conservation area notice, so please allow time in your planning.
If you have several trees that all need reducing, we are happy to offer a quantity discount. Ask about it when you book the inspection. 👍
What The Free Inspection Covers
The inspection is thorough and it is genuinely free. We will look at the tree from the ground and, where useful, from a higher vantage point in the garden. We identify the species, judge the condition of the crown and the union, and note anything on the tree that will affect the price such as deadwood pockets, weak forks or evidence of decay.
We check the access route: gates, side passages, garage width, and where we can park a chip truck. We check the drop zone: whether there is a lawn to work over, whether we need to protect a border, greenhouse or shed, whether the neighbour’s property is in play.
We check the protected status: whether the tree has a TPO on file with the council and whether the property sits in a conservation area. If either applies, we take that off your hands and submit the paperwork.
At the end we give you a firm written quote with a proposed start date. There is no obligation and no follow-up sales call.
